Hospitals
HealthLink is a world leader in designing and implementing communications systems linking general practices with hospitals. Today 70% of New Zealand's hospitals use HealthLink to deliver electronic discharge summaries using HL7 messaging. This is the same system that is used by medical specialists, accident and medical clinics and a range of other healthcare providers to send confidential clinical information to each other.
HealthLink has coined the term 'RSD' (Referrals, Specialist Reports and Discharge Summaries). This has become a generic term widely used to describe the exchange of messages between and among primary and secondary healthcare providers. Most of the well known practice management and hospital patient management systems across Australia and New Zealand have been enabled to use the HealthLink RSD service.
Recently HealthLink has been involved in a collaborative e-referrals pilot involving a range of highly advanced technologies. |
