General Practices

The HealthLink System has been designed to provide General practices with a simple, reliable and secure method of exchanging clinical information with other health sector organisations. Typical uses for HealthLink include; delivery of pathology reports, hospital discharge summaries, patient referrals, specialist letters and messages between general practices and chronic care management systems. In New Zealand and some parts of Australia, HealthLink has become the predominant means by which information is exchanged between healthcare providers, nearly completely eradicating paper correspondence.

HealthLink uses sophisticated network management systems to monitor use of electronic messaging in order to identify and assist practices that are having difficulties with their day to day communications. All HealthLink's services are encrypted and require the use of digital certificates (otherwise known as electronic signatures).
