HealthSecure Digital Certificates


  1. How do I apply for a Digital Certificate?
    You will need to contact the Registration Authority on 0800 117 590 or email registration.authority@acc.co.nz and the necessary forms will be sent out to you.

  2. Is there a charge for a new digital certificate?
    At the moment either the Ministry of Health or ACC is paying for these.

  3. Why do I need a HealthSecure Digital Certificate?
    You will need a certificate if you wish to access any ACC/Ministry of Health/HealthPAC secure websites. These include NHI, Special Authorities, HealthPac Pharmacy claiming.

  4. How long is the Certificate valid for?
    One year

  5. Will I be contacted when the certificate is due for renewal? Yes the Registration Authority will post out a letter to you approximately 6 weeks before the certificate is due to expire asking if you would like this renewed. You must reply by sending the letter back to the Registration Authority for the renewal to take place. This renewal certificate will be sent out by HealthLink closer to your expiry date. If you have not replied before your certificate expires then please contact the Registration Authority.

  6. How do I obtain the Passphrase for a new Digital Certificate?
    You phone the HealthLink Helpdesk on 0800 288 887 to obtain this. Please note that the digital certificate holder must be the person requesting the passphrase. They must also have their challenge phrase ready. The certificate passphrase will only be given to the certificate holder (the person who’s name is on the CD/Floppy)

  7. What happens if the Certificate Holder leaves the Practice?
    You will need to contact the Registration Authority on 0800 288 887.

  8. What happens if I need to reinstall the certificate and I can't locate the original CD/Floppy disc?
    There will be a charge of $80.00 to revoke and re-issue a new certificate. You will need to contact the Registration Authority on 0800 288 887 to organise the new certificate.

  9. Where do I install the Healthsecure Digital Certificate?
    You install it on the computer you will be using to access the required website. This may be the Server or maybe a workstation. If in doubt please check with your own Practice Manager or IT person.
